With professional grade 3D scanning equipment in-house, we are able to capture complex 3D geometry and import it into our CAD program for use as reference geometry or to reverse engineer from.
Below you can see a few examples of where we have used this before.
We used 3D scanning to create our phone holders, scanning the dash of the cars means we can build products around the shape of the cars.
Our customer supplied some motorcycle forks and a brake caliper. They needed to make an adaptor to mount the brake caliper on the forks. Although in this case we could actually get drawings for the forks, we could not for the caliper and the space available was very tight. We positioned the caliper where it needed to be then scanned the whole assembly and designed a bracket to fit. This was then 3D printed to ensure a perfect fit before CNC machining from solid aluminium.
